Summary: Did you ever notice how the same letter can different sounds depending on how it is pronounced? This book helps to include all of the sounds that letters can make. This book is one that is a must for students that are ready to learn the letters and sounds of the alphabet.
Personal response: When I read this book, I thought immediately of the alphabet song but this book goes into a lot more detail than the song. I love how the book has a sentence with the first letter of each word beginning with the letter of the alphabet and that it has the capital and lower case letter printed on the same page. This would also help ESL students to begin the pronunciation of our alphabet.
Classroom connections: As the students are getting to know their alphabet letters and the sounds that they make, this book would be a valuable tool to use. This book is great for letter recognition because of the colorful pictures that are used with each letter. When the students would learn a new letter, I would start by looking at the letter in this book and reading the sentence to the students. We would work together for the final result being that students are able to recognize words from the book and know how to say them and eventually spell them.
